Curvy actress Sara Rue has been named diet firm Jenny Craig's new celebrity spokeswoman - and she's already enjoying big success just five days after she started using the weight-loss plan.

The TV star, who won acclaim for her role as a Stevie Nicks super fan in cult 2001 film Gypsy 83, will take over from Valerie Bertinelli as Jenny Craig's leading diet role model.

Rue, who was officially named the new spokeswoman on Wednesday, began her latest diet this weekend - and she's already seeing results.

She explains, "I started on Saturday because I didn't have any distractions. I didn't have to be anywhere. I could just focus on planning my meals and getting a good start on the weekend. I do not feel deprived at all. There is so much food. I was eating all the food and I was sure I was gaining weight."

She claims she has already lost seven pounds in five days.
