Rihanna has blasted her estranged father for speaking out about her February fight with then-boyfriend Chris Brown and suggesting he was close with the R&B star. The singer admits she was hurt, angry and upset when Ronald Fenty appeared to be representing her in a series of interviews as she went into hiding amid the press scrutiny surrounding the incident on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

She insists she hasn't spoken to her father for a year - and he was wrong to accept cash for talking to the media about his daughter.

In an interview with Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday morning, Rihanna said, "He kinda did something that was really upsetting - he turned his back on me and went to the media and just got paid to talk about stuff.

"All these little interviews he was doing after the situation in February. I hadn't spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did (speak) and it was so disappointing to me."

The singer also took aim at her father over recent claims he has made about trying to reconcile with his daughter, insisting he should just call her.

She adds, "That seems strange because I've been the one trying to reconcile with him forever. I have not heard from my father in over a year... I try though... I did my part and now it's on him.

"He did something that was a little embarrassing on tour; he disrespected some people on the bus and I didn't like that, so I kinda just let him go back home. I didn't think it was gonna be a thing where we weren't talking to each other... and every time I tried to call him after that, that was it.

"I left text messages... I hit (contacted) him on numerous occasions - Father's Day, everything, his birthday and just nothing... It's funny that you're saying he's trying to reconcile because he has my number."
