Former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek has filed for divorce from his wife Heather McComb five months after the couple split.

The pair wed in Malibu, California in July 2003, parted ways in April and have no children.

Van Der Beek has cited irreconcilable differences in his divorce papers, obtained by TMZ.com.
