The Strokes Awarded Best Album Of The Decade
A panel of musicians, producers, writers and record label bosses voted the New York band's 2001 debut into first place in the list of 50 albums compiled by British music magazine NME.
The Libertines' 2002 effort Up The Bracket claimed second place, while Primal Scream were third with Xtrmntr, ahead of the Arctic Monkeys with their 2006 debut release Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs rounded out the top five with Fever To Tell.
NME's top ten albums of the decade are as follows:
