'Dexter' Recap: Can 'Dexter' Be Saved?

DexterIt seemed impossible. It didn't seem like it was something he even wanted to happen. Through the relationships, the AA, the confessions to Miguel, Dexter appeared completely steeped in his quagmire of evil. A quagmire similarly inhabited by Trinity, until the elder serial killer was able to ostensibly extricate from the mire of mania with one revelatory confession.

It was this confession that finally revealed the complete story of Trinity. As a ten-year-old he watched his sister shower (a bit crazy to begin with, but nevertheless he did it) and, naturally, this led to his sister's getting a bit spooked. In her moment of shock she slipped in the shower, shredding her leg on the glass door and bleeding out. This turned Trinity's parents into shells of their former selves, turning his father into an abusive alcoholic and leading his mother to jump from a building (the second kill in his cycle). Trinity didn't explicitly say it, but the abuse from his father most likely led to his slaying his old man, thus completing his cycle of terror.

It was when he told Dexter all of this, that he finally got relief. Trinity, for the first time, seemed ready to accept his fate, and actually filled with glee. In the creepiest moment of the episode we saw Trinity telling a table of complete strangers his life story - clearly upsetting their small children.

Yes, Trinity was at the end of the line in this moment, and the end of his urn of mixed ashes. He was finally able to unburden himself, and decided to leave the world without those burdens - ready to leap from the top story of charity build in order to gain ultimate release. He'd be dead now, if Dexter hadn't saved him - that combined with last week's slaying of an innocent completing Dexter's cycle of breaking Harry's rules: He's now saved a killer and murdered someone who did nothing wrong. More than that, he's now convinced that Dexter is his savior, and seems at peace with his life of murder.

What sort of a person would allow all that to happen? Certainly not the serial killing angel of Dexter's past.

Also, it was confirmed in this episode that Trinity did not shoot Deb and kill Lundy. This was kind of an inevitable twist, but one that merits a prediction - I'm going with Anton as the culprit, he seems like he's the same height as Masuka.

Who does everybody else think it is?
