Adam 'DJ AM' GoldsteinThe family of tragic hitmaker Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein is suing the parties it blames for the late star's 2008 plane crash, insisting the incident ultimately caused his death.

Goldstein and bandmate Travis Barker survived the Learjet crash in South Carolina, but they both spent months receiving treatment for burns, trauma and emotional distress.

And now the DJ's estate is suing the company that chartered the plane for wrongful death, claiming Goldstein, a reforming drug addict, was forced to take various pain medications as a result of the accident, which left two pilots and two friends dead.

And the family lawyers are also going after Learjet and the estates of the two dead pilots, according to TMZ.com.

DJ AM died from a drug overdose in August.
