Jermaine Dupri has become embroiled in Da Brat's legal battle with a woman who was left permanently scarred following an attack at the music producer's nightclub in 2007.

Rapper Da Brat was convicted of aggravated assault and imprisoned for three years in 2008 over her attack on waitress Shayla Stevens at a Halloween party at Dupri's Studio 72 nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia the previous year.

The hip-hop star - real name Shawntae Harris - assaulted the former model with a rum bottle at the venue, leaving her with nerve damage to her face.

Stevens is suing Harris over the attack - and has now targeted Dupri, as well as two other revelers, over claims they failed to protect her from Harris' vicious outburst.

Documents filed at Fulton County Superior Court, Georgia show Stevens is suing for undisclosed damages.
