HouseIt's five episodes in to "House" now and they have continued to deal with his insanity and other constant storylines with grace and severity. What show is this? Is this not the show that usually shrugs off important plot points when it is convenient? This is a marvelous thing, and it is bringing back the excellence of the first few seasons with a brilliant but not cruel House and his original team of bright doctors. This fun can only last so long, but enjoy it while you can!

The patient of the week is a man named Donny who is convinced he will die by the age of 40. HIs father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all died at 40 of heart failure, and even if the doctors can't find anything wrong with him, he knows he's the next to die. The episode starts out with a very "CSI" like beginning, with Donny jumping off a building to get to a perp (he's a policeman) with no regard to his health or safety. Awesome. Cameron and her bleeding heart take on the case, but the rest of the team doesn't think anything is wrong with him. House eventually tricks Donny into thinking it's an easy fix, gives him some mint pills as medicine, and sends him home. This blows up in his face fairly badly when Donny drops dead four hours later. Nice.

Donny's ex girlfriend showed up with the son he never knew he had, so I thought at this point the new patient would be the sweet little boy. Not so much. House and Foreman decide to do an autopsy to figure out what happened, and in the middle of it, Donny wakes up! Ahhhhh! Zombie! Shoot it in the head! No, it turns out his blood pressure and heart slowed down so low that he appeared to be dead to a paramedic. Interesting. Would that do any damage at all to his body and mind? So he's their patient once again!

On the personal front, Chase is losing his freaking mind. This was expected since he knew his murderous choice would come back to haunt him, but it's crashing down on him hard. There is no chance he'll be found out now, but he's being self destructive instead. House gently suggests he talk to someone about it, pointing out that's what he did in a serious place. It is great to see the relationship between House and his ducklings; they really have a better vibe and genuine feeling between them. And it also goes to show that House does care again. Chase, being a good Christian boy at heart, goes to confession but the badass priest there refuses to give him absolution. So he gets drunk and refuses to tell his wife what's going on, so they're so headed for a divorce. Nooooo!

Donny has a few other serious problems going on, what with him pulling out a tooth from his own head (!) and losing control of his bowels everywhere. Man it sucks to be a House patient. After flirting with Cuddy, bow chicka wow, House figures out that it's a hereditary aneurysm that grows over time in the brain and messed with the part of the brain connected to the heart. Donny's going to live, and he can meet his son and be happy. Aw. 13 wasn't in this entire episode. Did anyone miss her?

Also on the personal side, House thinks he's going crazy in this episode because he moves into the room that Wilson and Amber used to share. It's a creepy shrine to her, which is probably not good for House's psyche since she was the one he hallucinated all the time. He thinks he's hearing voices in that room, and that really concerns him, but he finds out it's because Wilson talks to Amber every night about his day. It makes him feel better. Someone get Wilson some anti-depressants please. Or a really big hug. It's starting to get a little weird that he's this obsessed, but grief can take awhile to overcome.

For anyone who missed this episode of "House" thanks to the baseball game before it, you might have to wait for it to come up on the Fox website because your DVR did not pick it up. Sorry!

"House" is on FOX Monday nights at 8 PM EST.
