Actor Jamie Kennedy is baffled by persistent reports his romance with Ghost Whisperer co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt is on the rocks.

The couple has been dating since the start of the year following Hewitt's split from fiancé Ross McCall. The brunette beauty was rumored to have accepted a marriage proposal from Kennedy in July but representatives for both stars subsequently Dismissed The Claims.

Hewitt and Kennedy have since been dogged by reports they are heading for a break-up because the actor is still in love with his ex, Shannon Funk, Britney Spears' former assistant.

His spokesperson has insisted "there's no truth to this report," and Kennedy can't understand how the erroneous rumors start.

He tells People.com, "People just keep going on (with the rumors). We know what we are."
