Phillip Frye is cryogenically frozen on New Year's Eve 1999 and wakes up in 2999. He ends up befriending Leela, a confident, one-eyed alien; Bender, an alcohol-powered robot; Farnsworth, a distant relative and scientist; and Zoidberg, a lobster-like alien.
