Roman Polanski's Polish Walk Of Fame Star Unveiled
Embattled filmmaker Roman Polanski has been given a star on a Walk of Fame in Poland - one week after he was arrested over a 1977 sex crime. The Chinatown director was taken into custody by Swiss officials on September 26th and is now battling extradition to the U.S. to face sentencing for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor - a charge he pleaded guilty to before fleeing to France in 1978.
However, the controversy has done little to keep Polish film bosses from honoring the controversial director, who was honored with a plaque in Warsaw this weekend.
The sidewalk tribute, which sits alongside stars for film icons like Marilyn Monroe, is emblazoned with a quote from Polanski reading, "Nothing is too shocking to me."
