David Hasselhoff has brushed off his ongoing battle with booze as a "storm in a teacup."

The Baywatch legend hit headlines in 2007 when film footage of him drunkenly trying to eat a burger on the floor of his Las Vegas hotel room leaked on the internet. On two separate occasions this year, he has been hospitalized reportedly suffering from alcohol poisoning.

However, the actor insists he is "fine" - and claims his alcohol problem has been "blown out of proportion."

He tells U.K. TV show This Morning, "It's like, I have fun reading the paper - 'Oh, I'm in hospital today'. No, I'm fine! It's like that expression, a storm in a teacup. That's what it is around here. Everybody blows it way out of proportion."

"It blew over. Yeah, I was sick. I went to hospital for two hours and I was fine. I don't talk about it because it involves my family and my children and it involves what is very private to me.

"Funny - not one person on the street asks me about it. The only people who ever bring it up are television reporters, newspapers, and the radios."
