'America's Next Top Model' Recap: 'Make Me Tall'

America's Next Top ModelIn case you had forgotten, this cycle of America's Next Top Model is completely devoted to short girls. But, Tyra Banks felt the need to drive that point home really hard this week. Not only did she showcase little children walking down the runway (to represent how small people can strut their stuff), but she also had the girls walk next to tall models during a runway competition challenge. We get it, Tyra, they're short!

So, before the runway challenge, Miss J had to teach the girls a thing or two about walking. Some of the girls had impressive walks. Miss J said Brittany had the best walk of the bunch and sported an unexpected sexiness. However, more of the girls had problems. Sundai looked bored while walking, Lulu's steps were too short (no pun intended), Kara had a problem with her chin and Ashley walked too much like a dancer. Lulu was adamant though that her walk was a signature move and refused to make any alterations.

Of course, after the runway practice with runway diva extraordinaire, there would be a runway challenge. The girls were sent to a Malibu mansion to strut their stuff alongside taller models in a Kevan Hall fashion show. After the show, Miss J and Ann Shoket of Seventeen Magazine picked a winner. It was no surprise that Brittany won. Miss J previous told her that her walk was fierce and full of confidence. Brittany chose Laura and Kara to go with her to her winning advertorial photo shoot.

The photo shoot this week forced the girls to elongate their features to make them look taller than they really are. Seriously, they are beating a dead horse on the height issue now. The girls were put in dresses that helped them look long, heels that made them tall, and their hair was done up big to push them over the top. While in hair and makeup, the girls' alliances and bitchy personalities shined through. Bianca had previously told a sob story about being abused, while Ashley and Lulu ganged up on her and Brittany, almost just because they could. Nicole called them out on being mean bullies, but that didn't stop them.

Kara had the best photo this week. The judges told her she looked strong and used the set to her advantage. Next was Nicole, who they thought looked 6'3" in her photo. I guess that's a pretty big accomplishment because she's only 5'7". Erin and Sundai were called next. They were both told that their photos were stunning. Jennifer, who was called next, was complimented on the fact that her lazy eye was not an issue in this week's photo shoot.

Towards the end of the pack, Bianca was told that she would have been called sooner had she actually elongated her body instead of hunching over. The judges were pleased with how pretty her face looked. Laura followed, being told that she didn't really grasp the concept of looking long. Ashley had the same critique, only Tyra had to mention that she was not "smizing" in her photo. Rae had a similar critique.

That left Lulu and Brittany in the bottom two. Brittany had a terrible photo, but most likely her challenge win saved her this week. The judges sent Lulu home, which left her partner in crime, Ashley, in tears. Lulu was deemed pretty, but not fashionable by the judges. Looks like she might have to work on a few more things than her walk if she wants to be a Top Model in the future.
