"The Mentalist" - Premieres Thursday, Sept. 24
CBI was working on the case of Emma Plaskett on the first season finale of "The Mentalist." Her body had been found with her toenails painted in her own blood, and her twin sister, Maya, was still missing. Teresa thought it was a trap set by Red John because his signature smiley face was in the sky when they found Emma's body. A letter leads them to a woman who had a relationship with Red John. She is blind so doesn't know exactly what he looks like, but the team learns a little bit more about Red John's friend, Dumar. Dumar ends up holding Patrick at gun point. Teresa saves him, but, unfortunately, Red John once again escapes.
"Ghost Whisperer" - Premieres Friday, Sept. 25
The season finale of "Ghost Whisperer" gave viewers who had been on the emotional roller coaster all season some closure.
Melinda kept having awful dreams about giving birth and was being visited by the ghost of a little girl who had no face. As if dreams of giving birth in to a bassinet with hairless cats in it weren't bad enough, the little girl tells Melinda she can't save her daughter. Finally, Jim calms Melinda by letting her know they aren't even having a daughter; They're having a son! The little girl ghost wasn't talking about Melinda's unborn child. Instead, she was talking about Zoe Ramos. Of course, ghosts are never that clear at first, though. Zoe was protecting a very important book from being sold, but she was frightened by a thief trying to take it, fell down the stairs and died. The book is called "The Book of Changes" and it has Jim, Sam, Andrea, Eli and Zoe's names in it. It also has Melinda's name and her due date in it.
At the end of the episode Melinda and Jim forgo the over-the-top wedding and get married in the middle of the street where they met with Delia and Eli as the witnesses.
"Medium" - Premieres Friday, Sept. 25
Allison was helping Devalos find Oswaldo Castillo, a murderer for a Mexican drug cartel, on the season finale of "Medium." Allison is basically obsessed with the case and believes that one of the undercover agents is a part of it. A dream about the future leads Allison to realize Daniel, the undercover agent, truly is involved and had let Oswaldo kill his wife because she knew too much. Thankfully, someone finally believes Oswaldo that their good friend is a killer, and Devalos helps Allison catch Daniel.
Allison solved another case, but her personal life was a mess during the episode. She was snapping at everyone and getting horrible headaches. Turns out, Allison has a brain tumor. Allison has surgery for the tumor at the end of the episode, then slips in to a coma. Huge cliffhanger!
