Amy WinehouseBritish singer Amy Winehouse has been left in pain after undergoing reconstruction to improve her teeth.

The Rehab hitmaker's oral health deteriorated as she neglected dental hygiene during her long battle against drink and drugs. She has reportedly undergone several procedures - including fillings and extractions - but is in so much pain from the work, she has been given medication to cope.

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Amy's teeth were in a pretty gross state. They were brown and stained and needed major work on them and she was determined to get them back to their sparkling best.

"It's all major work and it's left her in almost constant pain, but she thinks the sacrifice is worth it. She's been given some very strong drugs to cope with the pain."

Winehouse was forced to halt a gig at London's Jazz After Dark club after ten minutes earlier this week, telling fans she couldn't sing because she was in too much pain.
