Suzanne Somers Says Chemotherapy 'Poisoned' Patrick SwayzeCancer survivor Suzanne Somers has blamed Patrick Swayze's death on his chemo treatment. The former Three's Company star announced in 2001 she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and rejected chemotherapy in favor of a natural treatment called Iscador, a mistletoe extract.

Now Somers has spoken out about Dirty Dancing star Swayze, who died at 57 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday.

The actress insists Swayze, who underwent regular bouts of chemo, could have extended his life if he had turned to alternative aids instead of drugs.

She tells columnist Shinan Govani, "They took this beautiful man and they basically put poison in him. Why couldn't they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins in his body? I hate to be this controversial. I'm a singer-dancer-comedienne. But we have an epidemic going on, and I have to say it."
