Jim Carrey's publicist has shot down reports the funnyman has 'wed' girlfriend Jenny McCarthy in a special commitment ceremony in Malibu, California.

The Mask actor, 47, was alleged to have pledged his dedication and reaffirmed his love for the 36-year-old model-turned-actress in a small family celebration earlier this month.

A source told the National Enquirer, "The vows basically said that they would 'be forever in love' with one another and that they would always be together. For the two of them, it was as good as a marriage ceremony."

The couple was alleged to have then jetted off to Las Vegas for a mini honeymoon-style holiday, but Carrey's representative has moved quickly to dismiss the reports.

His spokeswoman Marleah Leslie tells WENN the claims are "not true".

Carrey has been wed twice before.
