Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown is shedding the pounds as he prepares for a return to the limelight - with the help of professional trainers on the reality show Celebrity Fit Club.

The former New Edition singer has reportedly signed up to the next season of the boot camp weight-loss program, which sees the stars being put through vigorous exercise routines in a bid to slim down, reports TMZ.com.

Previous competitors on the American version include Hollywood star Daniel Baldwin, model/actress Mia Tyler and Sopranos actor Joe Gannascoli.

The seventh season of the hit show is scheduled to air in 2010.
