Helen Hunt To Replace Maura Tierney In 'Parenthood'
The star has been approached by bosses at NBC to take over the part Tierney played in the pilot episode of the upcoming drama series.
Production on the show was halted in July to allow Tierney to undergo a "medical evaluation" after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she ruled out a return to work earlier this month.
Hunt, whose career skyrocketed on the back of the sitcom Mad About You, will play a sibling in a family of four adults if she signs up for the TV adaptation of Ron Howard's 1989 movie.
