Rapper Ludacris is showing off his generous side - offering up 20 free cars to fans in a contest.

The Area Codes hit-maker, real name Christopher Bridges, is hosting the LudaDay Weekend from Thursday and has pledged to give away 20 vehicles before the close of the celebrations on Sunday.

To stand a chance in the Stars for Cars giveaway, Atlanta-based fans must submit a 300-word essay via the Ludacris Foundation website declaring why they deserve the prize.

Entrants wanting to participate must be at least 18, willing to pay the taxes, registration and insurance for the vehicle and provide a valid Georgia driver's license before the end of Thursday.
