Michael Jackson's Death Certificate Amended To 'Homicide'
Michael Jackson's death certificate has been changed to reflect the coroner's verdict of homicide - with details of an "intravenous injection by another" added to the document. The King of Pop passed away in June after suffering a cardiac arrest, and on Friday, the Los Angeles County Coroner ruled the star was killed by a cocktail of strong prescription drugs. Investigators claim Jackson died when an injection of powerful anesthetic Propofol was mixed with another sedative.
Jackson's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray is currently being investigated by police over allegations he administered the fatal dose. And now the superstar's death certificate has been amended to indicate the coroner's ruling.
The document, obtained by TMZ.com, lists the cause of death as "acute Propofol intoxication." The news comes after Jackson's mother Katherine filed legal papers asking a judge to have the star's estate pay for his burial.
The decision will be made in a hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Jackson is due to be laid to rest in Glendale, California on Thursday.
