What is up with celebrities thinking they are clothing designers? Every time we turn around there is someone else coming up with another line of pointless outfits - either too expensive for any normal person to buy, or too cheap looking to be caught dead in. The latest victim is Katie Holmes, in case anyone doesn't remember that horribly fitted blue number she wore to the Tropic Thunder premiere? She will be collaborating with her stylist on a line of women and children's clothes in the fall. If the blue dress or the satin jumpsuit (another "masterpiece") are any indication of what's to come we will definitely pass on this one.

Who could forget Heidi Pratt's "designer" line for Anchor Blue titled "Heidiwood." It was as cheesy and fake as Heidi herself- zebra print tanks, tiny shorts, cleavage baring dresses- it just got worse and worse. Heidiwood made Forever 21 look classy in comparison.

Jennifer Lopez and her line Sweetface - which surprisingly will shut down after Spring 2009 production is complete. Ok, we aren't that surprised. The line was described as a "high fashion version of street wear." What does that even mean?

Miley Cyrus for Walmart - not half bad. Avril Lavigne for Kohls, just as awkwardly punk as Avril herself. Victoria Beckham jeans - as tiny and ill fitting as she is and badly marketed to boot. Beyonce's House of Dereon - just plain awful. The list goes on and on.

Have any of these people even been to fashion school? Are they aware that it requires real talent and hard work to create a clothing line? It's pretty insulting to real designers that have spent a lot of time and money creating wearable lines year after year.
Basically celebrities should just stick to doing what they do best. For some of them it's actually acting, for the others it's eating dinner at Koi and shopping at Kitson.
Don't even get us started on celebrities coming out with perfumes...
