Cate Blanchett Suffers Head InjuryCate Blanchett was left bleeding on stage after she was hit by a prop during a live theater performance, according to Australian media reports.

The Oscar-winning Australian actress was performing in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Sydney Theatre on Wednesday when a prop radio held by co-star Joel Edgerton fell on Blanchett's head. The incident reportedly forced theater bosses to halt the show and ask audience members to leave the venue.

An eyewitness tells the Sydney Morning Herald, ''He (Edgerton) was supposed to throw it (the radio) out the window, but it sort of slipped and hit her in the head She was so good, she just went straight on."

"She had blood streaming down the back of her head and blood on the back of her neck. She acted for about another 30 seconds, then ran into what we thought was the next scene, but before we knew it the lights were turned on and we were told there were technical difficulties and everyone had to evacuate."

No further information regarding Blanchett's condition was available as WENN went to press.
