After initial reports that text messages with ex-boyfriend John Mayer were what led Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to break up with Jessica Simpson, Fox News.com has now reported that it was actually Simpson's drinking habits that led the NFL star to dump her.

A source said, "Jessica would get really drunk and obnoxious, it was out of control. She would be sprawled everywhere with her head on his lap and the look on Tony’s face said it all."

Embarrassment and pressure from teammates are what pushed Romo to finally put an end to their relationship, according to the site; and breaking up was "a really hard decision for Tony to make."

But one of Jessica's friends dismisses the claims, saying that the singer doesn't drink that much.

Simpson was devastated over the split, and it left her "sad, mad, and confused", according to People.com.

And recent reports allege that Jessica wants to get back together with ex-husband Nick Lachey, who broke up with his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, back in June.
