Newlyweds Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were forced to cut short their honeymoon last month - after they were struck down with food poisoning in their first days as husband and wife.

The Step-Up co-stars escaped to Bali for a romantic break after their July 12th nuptials but scrapped plans to stay on the Indonesian island after a bad meal left them incapacitated.

He says, "We had a little honeymoon. We call it a 'minimoon.' We're going to have the full moon later but I got food poisoning the first night there. That lasted two days, and she got sick on the third day."

However, Tatum insists the couple managed to salvage their last day in paradise, and celebrated their union with matching body art.

He explains, "We just got tattooed to wrap it up nicely. In Balinesian (sic) it says 'side by side'.
