Emile Hirsch found himself at the center of a security breach at a recent New York event - after a man pretending to be the star sneaked past organizers before the actor arrived.

An unidentified man posing as the Milk star showed up with an entourage of eight and was ushered into a party at Manhattan's Webster Hall on Thursday night.

According to the New York Post, organizers went into a fury when Hirsch arrived - realizing there had been a lapse in security.

A source says, "A publicist asked him (the impostor) if he wanted to walk the red carpet, but he said no and just went in."

A spokesperson for Hirsch did not respond to requests for comment as WENN went to press.
