Bones actor David Boreanaz apologized to fans for missing the Comic-Con convention this weekend by announcing the news he'll soon be dad to a baby girl.

Boreanaz was forced to skip his trip to Comic-Con in San Diego, California because his wife Jaime Bergman is expecting their second child. But he made up for his absence by taping a special video for the crowd.

He said in the clip, "I'm a little bit stuck in Los Angeles due to the fact that my wife is on her 34th week (of pregnancy with) our second child. And I'd like you to know that it's going to be a girl."

The 40 year old was careful not to give too much away, adding: "Don't ask me the name because I'm not going to give out any of that personal information!"

The couple's new arrival is due in September and will be a little sister to their seven-year-old son Jaden Rayne.
