The GameThe Game is challenging rap rivals Common and Ice Cube for the role of B.A. Baracus in the upcoming big screen adaptation of The A-Team.

The Dreams star has confirmed he's auditioned for the iconic part, made famous by Mr. T, and he's facing an anxious wait to see if he's landed the job.

The hip-hop star is keeping himself busy touring and working on his next album Red - but admits its release all depends on the success of his fledgling acting career.

He tells Hip-Hop Weekly, "It depends on this A-Team movie project I'm up for. If that doesn't happen it (the album) will be (released) in December."

However, The Game is doing all he can to ensure he edges out his competitors - he's piling on the pounds to convince director Joe Carnahan he's the right man for the role.

He adds, "I'm looking forward to working with the director Joe Carnahan and Liam Neeson, who's playing Hannibal. I gotta gain 35 pounds before December so; I'm on my regimen and training. I'm gonna go from 225 to 260 over the next couple months and it's an exciting process for me, so it's on!"
