Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal rushed to his wife's hospital bedside on Tuesday after she was involved in a serious car accident in Florida.

Shaunie O'Neal was driving to the airport when a teenager smashed "full speed" into her car at around 6am.

Police were called to the scene and she, along with two others, was taken to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando for treatment.

However, O'Neal escaped with minor injuries and later assured her pals she was fine, writing on her Twitter.com page, "Super sore... but I'm good." She was later discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home.
