The Beastie Boys have canceled all upcoming concert dates and delayed their new album 'The Hot Sauce Committee' on the news that Adam 'MCA' Yauch has cancer. Watch the announcement after the break.

The video announcement was posted to the group's official website.

Adam Yauch has assured fans that the cancer is highly treatable, and despite its close proximity to the throat, his voice will not be affected. He says: "I just need to take a little time to get this in check, and then we'll release the record and play some shows. It's a pain in the neck (sorry had to say it) because I was really looking forward to playing these shows, but the doctors have made it clear that this is not the kind of thing that can be put aside to deal with later."

The Hot Sauce Committee was due sometime in September. It is the follow up to the instrumental The Mix-Up, which went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. The Beastie Boys recently revealed that a 'Hot Sauce Committee Part 2' record is finished, as they simply had too many songs they wanted to release.

Starpulse.com wishes Adam a hasty and healthy recovery.
