TV star Dylan Mcdermott has vowed not to date another celebrity - six months after finalizing his divorce from his ex-wife, actress Shiva Rose.

The former couple, who share two children, ended their 13-year union in January. McDermott admits being newly-single has forced him to re-evaluate his priorities - and the actor insists he has no time for a partner who shares his demanding work schedule.

He tells the New York Post, "For a 6am shooting call, I'm up 4am. You have to dedicate your whole life to it. No time for anything else. With 16-hour days, to schedule your dentist you need to wait until hiatus."

"I'm transitioning. Right now it's work work work. I doubt I'd marry anybody in the business again. Our lifestyles are fantasy, not reality. You get out of touch with the real world. Although living alone and taking out the garbage does keep you grounded."
