Emma Watson's swotty character Hermione Granger has been named as the most beloved character in the Harry Potter franchise, according to a new poll.

Fans of the wizard tales voted the bushy-haired academic as their favorite member of the Harry Potter gang.

And Potter devotees are adamant the 19-year-old actress will have the most successful career after the films come to an end in 2011.

Some 51 percent believed Watson would enjoy a more lucrative future than her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, with 39 percent insisting she'd become a sex symbol.

Watson has already proved a hit on the fashion circuit, landing modelling jobs with high-class design house Burberry.
