Molly Ringwald is the new mom to twins. The 80s icon gave birth to a boy and a girl on Friday, July 10, according to people.com.

The twins join big sister Mathilda Ereni, 5.

Ringwald is writing a new book about life as a 40-something. The star, who became the face of many 1980s teen movies including Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club, turned 40 last year and realized it's such a significant age, she's writing about it.

Ringwald stars on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which airs Monday evenings at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
