Rapper Lil Wayne is facing fresh embarrassment in a lawsuit over a missed gig in the Bahamas - promoters of the show allege he was too drunk to take the stage.

The Lollipop hit-maker was hired by Red City Entertainment and given a $210,000 advance to perform for 5,500 fans in Nassau last September. When he didn't show for the concert, police were called in and allegedly found the star passed out in his hotel room.

Initial reports suggested the rapper - real name Dwayne Carter, Jr. - was too tired for the gig.

However, it has now emerged Red City Entertainment's legal team allege Lil Wayne was drunk.

Lawyer Glenn Gitomer tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "He appeared to be intoxicated."
