Mischa Barton's concerned pals have begged her to take care of her body after recent booze binges have left her bloated and unhappy, according to reports.

New photos of Barton with a visibly rounder face hit the tabloids last month, prompting speculation the star's turbulent love life was causing her to overindulge in food and alcohol.

The paparazzi photos were in stark contrast to her appearance in January, when she sparked fears for her health after turning up to a fashion show looking emaciated. And the actress' close circle fear her string of failed romances with a slew of rockers have left her craving wild nights out to battle her depression, according to Britain's Closer magazine.

A source tells the publication, "When her love life is out of sorts she just lets herself go and hits the party scene. Her friends try to tell her to stop but she doesn't listen. Drinking bloats her terribly."

"After clubbing she'll usually tuck into greasy fast food. She'll starve herself all day then binge on junk. It wreaks havoc with her system."
