'True Blood' Recap: Maryann's Sexy Party, Bill & Sookie Make Up

True BloodThe beauty of "True Blood" is in the little details of each episode. In the latest episode it is things like the Fangtasia shirt that Sookie wears, Pam's ruined pumps, Jessica's adorable hair barrettes, and Maryann's magical disappearing pig. Last week we were worrying about Lafayette's ultimate fate and thought that Bill may actually have to snack on Jessica's family to keep their secret. Unfortunately there is no Lafayette vampire this week, and Bill only had to glamour her family. Tch! Very disappointing, "True Blood." I promise, we'd still love Bill even if he murdered an entire family ... probably.

Anyway Bill and Sookie have their usual OMG I HATE YOU OH WAIT NO I LOVE YOU YAY OH NO SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED back and forth relationship this week. It's as strangely endearing as ever. They fight over Jessica's family, Bill snaps at her (rightfully), and Sookie (stupidly) goes stomping out into the darkness. Because she apparently doesn't watch this show. And of course something bizarre pops out - half bull half man? - and cuts her open. I love whenever something weird happens to Sookie; her reactions never disappoint. This time she just goes "what the...." and then runs like hell. Bill takes her to Eric for help, and he hires a special healer to take the poison out of her system because she can't swallow vampire blood. Once the poison is taken out in a very, very painful operation, Bill heals his darling human and knows Eric now has a favor hanging over their head. Not really someone you want to owe!

Meanwhile Sam is like TARA STOP LIKING MARYANN SHE IS EVIL and Maryann keeps being awesomely evil-ish. Maryann is probably the most likable character on the show right now, which follows a pattern since the other 'evil' characters (Eric, Pam, Rene, Jessica, Eddie) are/were all generally likable people. Speaking of Eddie, Jason is having nightmares about him and gets the Fellowship a little tiffed when he defends vampires in a group session. He says Rene killed people he loved because he hated vampires, so he storms out. Sarah brings him back by manipulating his guilt and promising God has big plans for him, both things which place Jason right into her hands. I can't wait for the other shoe to drop with that Fellowship couple. We're just waiting to see what they're really about.

Tara and Eggs seem to be doing a little better this week, and she even skips work to hang out with him. Maryann is having one of her wild sexy parties, where everyone drinks heavily and starts stripping off their clothing. Andy stops by and sees a giant pig (remember that?) but it disappears when he turns around. Then Maryann waves alcohol under his nose, and he goes into sin like a good little police detective. Sam sulks at his bar and misses Sookie, and he packs up all of his things. Terry is the only one around to watch the bar, but Sam has a little bonding moment with new waitress Daphne. Both swimming naked in the lake at midnight. Aw. Except she has huge gaping wounds on her back looking suspiciously like the claws on Sookie's back. Interesting.

And how does it end for our darling lovers? Well Sookie finds out about Lafayette and she completely loses it at Eric. Which is awesome, because he just keeps flirting and then tries to scare her, but our Sookie is made of much tougher stuff than that. She agrees to go to Dallas if Lafayette is let go, and the deal is made. Bill and Sookie make up on the way home, but then he loses HIS mind when he finds sweet little Jessica making out with Hoyt. And that's the cutest part of the whole episode.

Best part of the episode: Hoyt cutely showing Jessica how to use a Wii.

Worst part of the episode: Eggs letting that naked girl massage him. Did he really think Tara would dig that? Ick, dump the jerk!

"True Blood" will not be back for two weeks, and when it does, Sookie and Bill go to Dallas and Tara decides to move in with Sookie. So check it out in two weeks on HBO, Sunday night at 9 PM EST.
