In a shocking turn of events, it was reported that 50-year-old Jackson had been rushed to the hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. Reports on Thursday afternoon said the superstar was not breathing when paramedics got to his home and family members at the hospital reportedly said the situation was grim, and around 3:15pm (Pacific time) reports confirmed that Jackson had passed away.

Michael rose to fame in the 1960's as a member of The Jackson 5, with brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon, and released such hits as "ABC" and "Rockin' Robin". He later went solo and subsequently went on to superstardom with the release of Thriller, which heralded such hits as "Billie Jean" and "Beat It". In fact, seven of the nine tracks on the album reached the top 10 on the charts.
