Actor Eddie Cibrian has bounced back following the intense media speculation over his alleged affair with Leann Rimes - he has landed a role on the hit crime series CSI: Miami.

Rimes has been at the center of a tabloid storm following accusations she cheated on her husband with Cibrian after an American publication printed pictures of the pair enjoying an intimate night out in Los Angeles earlier this year.

However, despite constant reports Rimes' marriage to dancer Dean Sheremet is heading to the divorce courts, Cibrian has departed the furor relatively unscathed - and has been signed for a recurring role on the popular CBS show.

He will play a character who joins the Miami crime investigation team from the Los Angeles Police Department when the new season hits the small screen in the autumn.
