Neil Patrick Harris and his boyfriend, actor David Burtka, are trying to find a surrogate mother to carry their baby.

The gay couple, who have been together for five years, have reportedly gone through a screening process at the Growing Generations agency. Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker used the same company for their twin girls due in July.

"Neil and David were so relieved and excited once they were approved. Now they have so many surrogate profiles to go through to find the right woman to carry their child," a source told Star, adding, "Neil and David can't wait to hold their baby; they don't care if it's a boy or a girl. They just want a healthy child."

Harris found fame as a child starring in 'Doogie Howser, M.D.' Currently he stars as Barney Stinson on 'How I Met Your Mother.' The 36-year-old actor came out of the closet in 2006 after reports of his relationship with Burtka appeared online.
