America's former first lady Hillary Clinton was forced to snub a meeting with Angelina Jolie on Thursday after she tripped and broke her elbow.

Clinton, who is now the U.S. Secretary of State, was due to attend an event with the Hollywood actress to promote World Refugee Day on June 20 but tumbled as she made her way to the White House.

Doctors discovered she had fractured her right elbow and scheduled her in for surgery to repair the damage next week.
