Lil Wayne DocumentaryRap superstar Lil Wayne has been defeated in his latest court bid to permanently ban the release of a documentary about his life after a judge ruled his case had little merit.

The Lollipop hit-maker, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., filed a lawsuit for fraud and breach of contract against film executives at Quincy Jones III's QD3 Entertainment, alleging they reneged on a deal to give the star final approval of the movie, titled The Carter, before its release.

Carter's representatives have denounced the project as a "scandalous portrayal" of the MC after moviemakers refused to remove footage allegedly showing the rapper taking drugs.

His lawyer alleged, "Lil Wayne's reputation and the value of his identity can be diminished by an unauthorized use of his image and persona, or by association with a movie or purported authorized documentary that, in reality, does not meet with his approval and depicts him in a negative light and/or engaged in criminal conduct."

However, the star appears to be fighting a lost cause - on Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Mink upheld his April ruling against placing a ban on the movie.

Mink claimed evidence used by Carter's attorney was not strong enough to justify the MC's claims. And there was a further blow for Carter - he was fined $5,000, which he must hand over within the next four weeks.
