Oscar nominee Viola Davis will join the cast of Showtime's 'United States of Tara' for seven of the upcoming season's episodes.
Davis will debut in the second episode of the season playing Lynda B. Dozier, an unconventional artist who plays a significant role in the lives of Tara (Toni Collette) and her daughter Kate (Brie Larson).
43-year-old Davis had a breakout performance in last year's 'Doubt,' garnering an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Most recently she starred as Ellen in Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail.
'United States of Tara' stars Toni Collette as Tara, a suburban wife and mother struggling with DID (dissociative identity disorder), formerly known as multiple personality disorder.
Season two production will commence in August and with episodes premiering next year.
