Rachel Stevens MuggedBritish pop star Rachel Stevens has been left terrified after she was held up on her own doorstep by thieves who demanded her engagement ring.

The former S Club 7 singer was making her way into her North London home on Tuesday when a trio of thugs surrounded her and forced her to remove the diamond ring given to her by actor fiancé Alex Bourne.

She was also forced to hand over a necklace and a Rolex watch, before the gang escaped the scene of the crime in a car. Stevens' publicist says, "Rachel did experience an intrusion and is shaken but otherwise OK."

A representative for Scotland Yard confirmed the incident: "It's believed the woman returned to her flat and was followed in to the premises by three males. The suspects are understood to have threatened her before making off with a quantity of jewelry."

Stevens and Bourne are preparing to marry this summer.
