A security guard has been charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly shoving former supermodel Stephanie Seymour into a door at her Connecticut home.

Joseph Babnik, 50, from Carmel, New York, was arrested on Thursday following an altercation with the supermodel at the home she shares with her estranged husband Peter Brant.

Seymour filed for divorce from Brant in March after nearly 14 years of marriage and they now live in separate quarters at their Connecticut country estate.

Seymour alleges Babnik attempted to block her from entering the main house and pushed her into a screen door as she attempted to get away from him, according to America's Greenwich Time newspaper.

Babnik was charged with disorderly conduct and issued with a misdemeanour summons at the scene. Brant is said to have been abroad when the incident occurred.

The news comes after Seymour, 39, accused her estranged partner of monitoring her movements by placing a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracker on her car.

Seymour is said to have filed a complaint with police, but authorities were unable to press charges because the vehicle is registered in Brant 's name. Attorneys for Brant have denied the businessman ever placed a tracker on Seymour's car and branded the incident involving his security guard "embarrassing and unfortunate."
