Police were called to the set of Robert De Niro's new film in Michigan on Friday after the star was accosted by a drunken female fan.

The Taxi Driver star is currently shooting upcoming movie Stone with Edward Norton but production was halted when the set was disrupted by a drunk woman who managed to bypass security.

The woman, named by TMZ.com as Carlyn Campbell, allegedly accosted De Niro before police were called to remove her.
Campbell was breathalised and was subsequently admitted to a local hospital. It is not known whether she will face charges over the incident.
