New family film Up has soared to the top of the U.S. box office to become the third biggest debut for a Disney Pixar film behind The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.
Early estimates suggest the film, about a cantankerous old man, voiced by Ed Asner, who goes on a flying house adventure with a boy scout and a dog, opened with a $68.2 million opening weekend take.
Much-hyped horror film Drag Me To Hell failed to scare up huge numbers at the box office and opened with $16.6 million to come in third behind Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which took its 10-day tally to $105.3 million with a weekend estimate of $25.5 million.
