Courtney LoveCourtney Love has hit back at a $350,000 lawsuit filed against her by bosses at credit card firm American Express - accusing them of allowing fraudulent transactions to be made using her account.

AmEx chiefs claim the rocker racked up the huge bill on her Gold card and has refused to pay it off, but Love's lawyer has fired back, insisting his client has been battling the charges for months, because she didn't spend the money.

The attorney tells TMZ.com, "AmEx knows the claim has no merit. We have told them this for a long time. AmEx's law policies allowed fraudulent transactions to be charged to my client's card."

It's just the latest in a long line of financial woes for the former Hole frontwoman - she has launched an investigation examining her claims that millions of dollars are missing from the estate of her late husband Kurt Cobain.

And just last year, Love was sued for $1 million by the bosses of finance firm London & Co., who accused the star of failing to pay them profits from the sale of Cobain's share of the Nirvana publishing catalog.
