has ruled out another Cream
reunion, insisting the members of the rock super-trio have parted ways amicably.
The guitar great re-teamed with Ginger Baker
and Jack Bruce
for shows in London and New York in 2005 and fans have been hoping for another get-together ever since - but that isn't going to happen. Clapton says, "I think I was clear that I don't think we need to go there again... I think we've gone as far as we could with that."
However he insists, "I'd never say never" - a comment which will please Bruce, who told Billboard.
com magazine last year, "I think there might be a chance of some more (gigs). I would like to do some more, cause I enjoyed it. It was very emotional. I would like another shot at it."
Meanwhile, Clapton has revealed the 2005 Cream reunion almost included his Blind Faith
band mate Steve Winwood
, who is currently on tour with the guitar great.
He tells Rolling Stone
magazine, "It was not a favorable idea with the other two guys... We would have had to start a new band with a new name."
