Rocker John Mayer has the approval of former supermodel Christie Brinkley if he ever wants to date her daughter Alexa.

Newly-single Brinkley admits she's quite fond of the singer/songwriter herself but insists her "cougar days" are over when it comes to dating toy-boys.

However she says, "He's perfect dating material for my daughter... You guys could make beautiful music together."

Singer/songwriter Alexa, 23, is Brinkley's daughter by rocker Billy Joel.
