Mel Gibson was left squirming during an interview on TV on Monday night when he was quizzed about marrying his pregnant girlfriend.

The Braveheart star spoke candidly with The Tonight Show host Jay Leno and opened up about the two women in his life - his estranged wife Robyn, who filed for divorce in April, and his new girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

Gibson took the opportunity to confirm reports Grigorieva is expecting their first child together, telling Leno of the rumors, "This is true. We're gonna have a child."

But the Hollywood actor had to dodge questions about plans to make an honest woman out of the Russian singer, quipping, "Who would do it twice?! (That's) a great question. I don't know if I'm gonna answer that."

The Gibsons were married for 28 years and are parents to one daughter and six sons.
